“Being a witch is about freedom. Freedom to. be who you are, to grow as you wish, to worship in the way that you desire.” (Gabriela Hersik, Craft)

Fully embracing witchcraft is one of the best things I’ve done this year. It felt like now all my hobbies and rituals are more in sync, that I’m more conected with what surrouds me, and that a part of me that’s always existed finally started to make sense. I had small hobbies and rituals that were manifestatios of magic even before I realized it, and these were things that I’ve been doing for most of my life.
It took time to openly embrace witchcraft, as I grew up in a predominantly catholic family. On my part, it took a lot of reading and research to fully understand and go forth with my personal journey into being a catholic witch. Because yes – they do exist. I’ve met a lot of other witches whom I share the same journey with. Practicing has become a form of self-care for me on most days. I took up lessons on tarot, astrology, and read up on crystal healing. It has truly helped me heal in the year when I struggled with my mental health the most.
When it finally happened, there was this feeling of meant to be, and truly, a moment wherein I think I finally found myself.
